Admissions & Referrals

Edintervention School welcomes enquiries from families, local authorities and partner schools for pupils at Key Stage 4 both with or without an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) (where specialist support is needed). Our formal admissions process ensures we fully understand a young person’s needs so that we can offer a place that will support their progress socially, emotionally and educationally.

How to Request a Place

Local Authority Consultation
For students with an EHCP the local authority SEND team should submit a consultation to our Admissions Team, including the child’s EHCP and relevant reports.
Referral from Schools or Parents
For organisations, parents and carers that wish to make direct referral please contact paul@edintervention.co.uk
Initial Review
We review paperwork to assess whether we can meet the pupil’s needs.
Visit
If appropriate, we invite the pupil and family to visit the school and meet key staff, including the Head of School.
Offer
After a successful visit, we send a formal offer to the local authority with a suggested start date.
Transition
Once the offer is accepted, we work with families and professionals to plan a supportive transition into school.
Induction Process
Upon joining Edintervention School, every pupil follows a carefully planned induction process designed to support a positive and confident start. Baseline assessments are used to identify strengths, needs and next steps, enabling staff to create bespoke learning pathways tailored to each individual. Through a gradual and supportive introduction to school routines, relationships and expectations, pupils are helped to settle, feel safe and begin learning in a way that works best for them, supporting engagement, progress and long-term success.
Pupils can begin at any point in the academic year where capacity allows.
