DOMIS and CWS Alternative Provision visit

Thanks so much to DOMIS and CWS for facilitating an engaging and inspirational site visit for our year 11 students. They visited the new residential development Waterhouse Gardens in Manchester. 

 

Professionals shared their insightful personal journeys into construction and delivered a really accessible presentation which gave our learners an idea of what working on site involves. The students were introduced to a range of important health and safety issues, the range of roles in the construction industry and scheme information. The session was facilitated in a way that made the young people comfortable in considering and speaking about their aims, ambitions and goals. 

 

The students said they were really keen to get back on the site and have a proper look round, with one of them asking "I would love to work here, when can we come back?"
